Cat Perks

My name is Catherine Perks and I live in a small town on the North East coast of Scotland.
I am a married mother of five children. I spent many years in the nursing profession and later became a  Holistic Therapist and am at present currently studying more therapies.

I have always kept an open mind on most subjects and as a small child grew up with christian beliefs.
I have always had an interest in spirits/ghosts.
As a child I would often see spirits and wonder why people around me could not see what I was seeing.
I have always had a firm belief that when we die there is another place that we go to.
My Mum died suddenly when I was 15years old in an accident.

I felt that this was the point in my life where I started to look for answers, as a friend suggested I go with her to a spiritualist centre.
I feel that by reading the many books of Medium Doris Stokes, this woman gave me an understanding and comfort that life carries on and that my mum was still alive.

 Just before my daughter Katrin was born I had found a few sites online about Evp.
Later on in months I then found Martha Copeland. It was then I decided to embark on the journey of Evp.

I have to admit that when I first started Evp it did all seem rather daunting, and, yes I was feeling rather sceptical, as I did not believe that it could be possible to record on a voice recorder other voices than your own.

My first EVP recording was left on my voice recorder whilst it was turned off.
This got me very interested and yes, at the start I was very sceptical, so I had to keep a very open mind.
My first couple of recordings I can only describe as hundreds of voices all speaking at once.

On the next recording I obtained a very clear audible recording from a male saying "Hello Cat nice to meet with you" and many other EVP recordings followed.

I do feel that when spirit side have got their line in to whatever device you use then the voices do start to come in stronger. It was  then that I started to receive EVP messages from my grandmother, mother and brother and once this happened the gates seemed to open.

Events got stranger around the end of September 2006... my mobile phone rang, so i picked it up, noticing it was my daughters' mobile number on the display so I said "hello" to my daughter (beforehand I was getting very frustrated at editing some of the very unclear EVP's I had captured in that week and I was just about to delete them all when I got the call).

It wasn't my oldest teenage daughter who was on the line, but was very noisy with several voices all speaking at once, although a female with a  very clear sentence  then came through "Are you ok?"
You can imagine my shock as the voice I had heard so clearlyr was the voice of my mother, she had been dead for 24 years.
After the voice spoke the phone went dead.

I do have to admit that when I received that first phone call, I had a hundred emotions all trigger at once and no words can describe the feelings.

A few days later I received another call to my mobile and the same thing happened again.
This time I heard the same female voice of my mother shout "Listen".
This call lasted for around six minutes.

My daughter confirmed that she had not called me on either occasion, had her keypad lock enabled and there was no record of the calls being made from her mobile.

The last mobile message I received was recorded on my mobile voicemail on the 22nd October 2006 at 00.42am. When i picked up my voicemail message I could not believe my ears.
There was a message from my mother and also a message from my husbands' father:

"Catherine, I'll always be there.
I love you, I'll be there for you, I love you.
It's your mum, stay happy.
Colin, he will always be there for you always.
Speak to me.
Steven and Cathy, be happy.
When your Dad starts calling, dont ever leave, leave you".

My husband also listened to this voicemail message and was previously very sceptical, but after hearing the voicemail message he soon changed his opinion.

If you have never heard or received a phone call from the dead, when you do get or hear a call you may think it is some kind of wind up or that someone is playing a prank on you because they can sound very noisy, distant and you can hear other things in the background such as noise of a person walking, thumping and the noise of vechicles going past, and most of the time people will say to you that it is someone who has touched a button on their mobile by mistake and phoned you.

But, when you do pick up a live call from the other side, you then know that any other one that does come in is from them.

There are numerous people all over the world that have received a phone call such as I have received, and news of people receiving phone calls are now getting more frequent.
All I ask is when and if you do receive a phone call, please do not hang up on them.
The message that spirit family members give you could be of importance or they just want to let you know they are OK and they have crossed over.

I was having a conversation one day with another EVP researcher regarding audio etc. who told me to check the audio from family videos, which thanks to her I did.

I began processing the audio from the movies I had been recording of my youngest daughter from when she was only a couple months old and discovered that from as early as 25th April 2006 my mother had been leaving messages for me long before I started recording for Evp.
There were a further five messages on the 27th April and more still on the 5th, 18th and 26th May 2006.
Most of the messages she left were very clear and one message I liked in particular was where she said:

"Asking if I am happy, message for Catherine"

From this point on I started recording EVP on my Canon A95 Powershot camera and found I was getting a 'one to one' conversation with my mother, who has since paid me numerous visits just to keep an eye on things and to give guidance.

On the 14th November 2006 the message I received left me rather shaken as she mentioned something about 'hospital' and 'Da', so I recorded again and left her a message saying:

"did Grandad have an accident, was he dead, did he cross over?"

The message she gave me was:

"Waiting at hospital was seeing grandad
did he...
Yes he crossed over to...
He have able (able she meant trouble) with what he..."

The recording played in reverse said in a male voice which was my Granddad saying:
"I must leave this Earth
Laugh Cathy
He's very sorry for what he did
Dinnae mean this
Go back will you"

You can understand why I was very shaken, and to confirm the message, I phoned my cousin whom I have not been in contact with since 2002.

My cousin confirmed that my grandfather had died but couldn't remember the month.
I then contacted my uncle whom I haven't seen since I was a small child and he had learned the news from a cousin who confirmed my grandfather died in July 2006.

When my mum gave me that important message not only did she come through clear, but I know she was able to not just speak, she was answering the questions I was asking her as in a two way conversation.
I do feel it was from that stage, a turning point in my research a ‘Breakthrough’.

On October 15th 2008 at 07.26am on our BT phone line voice mail, another message from my mum was left where she mentions something about ‘Project’.

I would like to say to people out there that this was the proof I needed, as some believe it is our subconcious that is hearing EVP messages and attribute them to 'auditory hallucinations' but I have the proof to say otherwise... auditory hallucinations can not be recorded.

The dead do speak to us and will continue to do so.
They are people but are of a higher spiritual level and can hear everything we say.
They are with us in times of sadness, joy and troubles.

My mother left a lovely message saying "If you ever need me" and has left me a lot of other messages.
Sometimes she may choose to answer my questions that I bombard her with and sometimes not.

As a researcher I try to gather as much information from my research as possible. I don’t have all the answers, that is why I am a researcher, searching for and gathering evidence.
I am also not an expert but then again is anyone an expert who is dealing with anything of a paranormal nature? And I do hate hearing some people say that they are experts. If they were, we would know what there is to know and there would be no reason to even carry out research.

How do the voices materialise on the tape?
Again, as a researcher I do not have the answer as I am still searching for it.

From what I have learned, spirit side use electric, water, batteries ,and movement as a source, they can also manipulate equipment such as phones and computers and numerous other methods.
When they phoned my mobile from my daughters they were able to bypass the mobile network to get that call to me.

I have also witnessed a few things that spirit can do.
When my daughter was only a few weeks old I was fast asleep and felt a tap on my foot which was under the duvet cover also my name was called.
I then went into my daughter’s bedroom noticing she had the baby cover over her head, which I removed.
This I believe was a little help warning.

Myself and a friend have seen a £1 coin drop from a flat top surface TV which was turned off.
Family members and myself have all witnessed footsteps heard upstairs and seen a white shape passing our hallway downstairs, and we have witnessed my daughters musical mobile going off in the early hours of the morning. No we do not have such a thing as Poltergeist in our house and our house has always been active long before I took up research.
What we do have is family members that are in spirit coming down in visitation and also spirit team members who come in just to keep a watch on things.

Whilst working on a video of the Ghost box ‘Philip’ who is a bridge communicator on the other side and has been around me to help since 2006 jumped behind me.
Did this scare the living daylights out of me?
No chance, because I knew he was standing behind me beforehand.

I would say nothing is impossible on spirit side, anything is possible.
Just be amazed at what they can do and let them guide and help you.

Spirit passed on a message to our Circle group saying:

‘Dear circle from all of us, numerous evidence has been there for you and they said it is up to us to find it.
