You do not need to buy the most expensive of equipment to record with.
Recording EVP
Before I commence recording I like to spend 10 minutes or so just winding down and relaxing and listening to soft music. I then say a short prayer.
I then sit and switch on my recorder and record up to 2 minutes.
You can record for less or you can record up to 5 minutes. The longer you record for the more time it will take you to go through your Audio EVP capture.
When recording always make sure you speak clearly, slowly and always leave a space in between your message.
What Does an EVP Sound like?
When I first bought my Digital Voice Recorder I was lucky to have have a recorded message
left on my recorder while my voice recorder was turned off.
When I first started to record I heard what I can only describe as several people speaking at once and was able to pick out a few words here and there, then I started to get one single voice.
Editing an EVP Audio Capture
You won't always achieve a 'Class A' recording everytime you record.
You may find you have quite a clear audible EVP capture and you may not need to use software, but if you find your capture is not very clear you can edit your audio by increasing volumme and removing a notch of the noise or you can amplify/filter etc.
Every researcher has their own way of editing, so it's all about trial and error and what works for you.
Members are in the forum to help each other so you can ask anyone for help or more information.
We dont all hear the same as our hearing is different in each and everyone of us.
Some people will hear higher pitched words and others lower...EVP researchers train their ears
by listening.
You do have to listen carefully as there may be a message for you...if you dont listen intently you may miss the message intended for you.
You don't have to be psychic to recieve an EVP and some people might not get a message the first time they record, but you will get an EVP capture.
My view is EVP is another way of channelling messages to and from the other side.
Is EVP Dangerous?
In my opinion, we have good/bad people amongst us in the living world and this is the same in spirit world.
Always, when doing research, please try to keep a positive mind and try to free your mind of any negative thoughts.
After all you are opening a doorway from this world to the next each time you communicate, so always before embarking on anything, always say a prayer for protection.
Meditation beforehand is also a good thing to do to help you relax.
Again, you will have spirit team members who will pop down to keep an eye on things but we also have to keep ourselves protected.
Help Me
In all the years of my research, I have come across a great many spirits that say ‘Help me’ and you may wonder why they do this. I feel that sometimes, some spirits do get stuck as in earth bound through situations such as horrific deaths and accidents or for some spirits, they do not realise that they are dead. I have also come across the phrase ‘Help the people’.
Now I don’t really know if the spirit who is saying this is asking me to do anything, or they are speaking to another spirit but I feel even saying a short prayer will hopefully get spirit side to give this spirit or spirits the help they need.
Help is down
Many times I have heard spirit say ‘Help is down’ or ‘We’ve come to help’
I do believe that some spirits are part of a help team and they come down to help those spirits that need help.
These are just a few examples of what you may at some point hear in your recordings:
‘Call is Coming’, ‘End call’, ‘Hang up your Line’, ‘Busy, Not available’, and ‘go back’.
Imagine what it is like to be a fly on the wall and to listen to your next door neighbours’ conversations, well at times you can hear spirit side speak to each other and kind of listen in and so not all conversation is directed to you.
The first lesson I learned from spirit was to listen.
Without doing this you will not pick up messages properly.
In time you will tune in to hear better.
Every message you get is not always for you, but is for another researcher or another person that is not related to research, so always keep your audio files.
